The Gilstrap & Harmonson Law Firm has filed a case against the Catholic Diocese of El Paso and others stemming from the alleged abuse of an alter boy at a church in Las Cruces which occured in the 1970s. The lawyers at Gilstrap & Harmonson have handled several cases and claims against the El Paso Diocese. The complaint alleges that the alter boy was abused on several occasions by a diocesan priest. The case was originally filed in Santa Fe; however, a change of venue to Las Cruces was granted by the Santa Fe court. The Los Angeles Diocese recently awarded approximately $660 Million Dollars to the victims of sexual abuse.
